Anything we should know?
I retired on 12-31-2021 from the IRS. My spouse was only suppose to get half my pension from the 12/1/2019 date and raises were to only be based on that amount (Like an alimony payment). But the benefits specialist we used didn't word it properly and now she's receiving half of my pension and equal raises. After many attempts to clarify why this was happening through OPM they finally explained since it didn't contain the phrase "No salary adjustment after 12/1/2019" then she's entitled to half my pension with equal raises. My attorney says we need a new QDRO to take back to family court, so I can rectify this issue. As you can imagine my ex-spouse hasn't responded to requests to correct this issue. We did used her benefits specialist who was suppose to be excellent, but that wasn't the case. Thank You, Freddie Howard
