Human resources and employees benefits issues can be a cumbersome financial burden for a growing company.  Further, a poorly administered employee benefit plan can make already complicated issues for employers and employees significantly more complicated.  Not only can this create a very real problem for these employers and employees, but a poorly administered plan is bad business for all parties concerned.  That is why we are here.

Our firm works with employers large and small to create, develop and administer employee benefit plans for their employees.  Specifically, our focus is on assisting employers with the preparation and administration of the appropriate plan documents necessary to avoid inefficient and/or ineffective benefit administration that costs employers money, time, and exposes them to liability.  Most commonly, we are engaged by plan administrators to administer Qualified Domestic Relations Orders ("QDROs") and Qualified Medical Child Supports Orders ("QMCSOs").  This includes advising human resources and benefits staff on appropriate policy for handling these orders, establishing written guidelines (as required by law) for attorneys and family law litigants seeking to create a QDRO/QMCSO, and reviewing orders to ensure compliance and reduce liability for companies with qualified plans.

If you have general questions about the QDRO/QMCSO administration process, please review our "Cheat Sheet" for Plan Administrators (you will need Adobe or an Adobe reader to review this):
